The quest for angiogenesis biomarkers
This presentation highlights some of the known prognostic and predictive angiogenesis biomarkers used in oncology. VEGF expression may have use as a prognostic biomarker in mCRC but does not appear to predict clinical benefit with therapies that target the VEGF pathway. Through clinical trials of Avastin, a number of potential biomarkers have been identified. Biomarker development is a lengthy process involving a number of challenges.
