First-line therapy

  • ATLAS: efficacy and safety of Avastin with or without Tarceva in combination with chemotherapy20
    • the addition of Tarceva to Avastin after four cycles of Avastin plus chemotherapy significantly improved PFS
    • median PFS 4.76 months for Avastin plus Tarceva versus 3.75 months for Avastin plus placebo (HR 0.722, p=0.0012).
  • ML19389 is a phase II trial (n=109) that will investigate the efficacy of Avastin 15mg/kg every 3 weeks plus Tarceva 150mg per day until PD or toxicity21
    • following progression/toxicity, chemotherapy with gemcitabine plus cisplatin or carboplatin will be given second-line every 3 weeks for six cycles.
